Wow! What a ride! In honor of the 13th Anniversary. Here are 13 things that most people don't know about Curtis and I... oh and a cute montage from over the years.
1. I had sworn off men when I met Curt. I had broken off a relationship less than two months before and I wasn't looking for someone to date. I was wrong.
2. Curt and I wanted 5 kids. We agreed on that when he proposed. (Geniel beat me to that one!) We have realized that it is not in our control, we'll take what we get.
3. Curt and I were in the same ward for about 3 months and didn't meet, but knew the same people, (1992-1993 ish), we later met in July of 1994.
4. We went to school after we were married together to go into Landscape Management and Design. We both failed accounting and that was it... but we both would still love to garden and landscape, but don't have a big yard, that's one of our goals.
5. We still love to watch Beavis and Butthead as long as the kids aren't around.
6. Curt served his mission in Seattle and I am most happy on overcast, rainy days. We both want to live somewhere gloomy, rainy and dark to truly be happy.
7. Until Curt, I thought that Taco Bell was the only acceptable form of Mexican food other than cheese crisps. He opened up a whole new world for me. Thanks Chalo's and La Casita also, Globe's not that weird of a place after all. (still, I
never want to live there)
8. Until I came along, Curt didn't really like Saurkraut or Corned Beef and Cabbage, and I sure changed that! We love der Weinerzschnitzel and if we ever move, that is one place that had better be close by! Corned Beef is one of Aaron's favorite too.
9. The night we met (Friday), my truck's battery died. He sat there and let another girl hook up her car cables to jump it, so I could get home. He was too busy scamming on another girl. He has since apologized, but it is still really funny.
10. We love the beach, we secretly harbor the hope that as tragic as the event might be, "Cauliforneeah" will sink into the ocean and Arizona will have a wonderful beach to hang out at. Well, maybe just the part of Cali around Tiajuana...
11. Here's our timeline. Friday, meet for the first time at Dave Thompson's Party and find out Curt's name. Saturday, go to the country dance and dance with Curt 8 times straight, make him say "uncle" when we get tangled up doing the pretzel (his fault). Sunday, go "scam" on him in his ward and give him my phone number. Mon, Tues, Wed, wait by phone waiting for him to call. On Thursday, he calls and asks me out on Sat. Saturday, we go roller blading, I get wrapped around a "stop" sign trying to stop and all of our "friends" ditch us to fall in like, then love. We haven't gone more than 2 days without each other since then.
12. Out of all the surgeries I have had, his was the last face I remember, then first face I have seen when I woke up and was my rock through them all. He is the one that I cry with, yell the loudest at and laugh the hardest with. He is my joy and my one and only. He is my match, my equal, my best buddy. Our song is "Saved the Best for Last" by Vanessa Williams and we can both play it on the piano.
13. HOLY COW! Thirteen Years... Most people don't think that we are that old. We are... BUT,that's quite a record in the real world... Excuse me, I am going to hug my husband...
