Grandpa and Grandpa

No, my family has not gone "alternative lifestyle".

My dear little Hayden has an issue.  We have been trying to get him sorted out.

Whenever Hayden wants to go to my parent's home, he asks to go to "Grandpa and Grandpa's house".  Today while we were going to pick some oranges, this is the following conversation.

Hayden:  Are we going to Grandpa and Grandpa's?
Me:  No, we are going to GrandMa and Grandpa's.  Hayden, say GrandMa.
Hayden:  GrandMa
M:  Now say GrandMa and Grandpa's
H: Grandpa and Grandpa.
M: No, GrandMA and Grandpa.
H:  Grandpa and Grandpa.
M: Say, 'We are going to GrandMa's house.'
H: We are going to GrandMa's house.
M: Now, 'We are going to Grandpa's house.'
H: We are going to Grandpa's house.
M: Say, 'We are going to GrandMA and Grandpa's house.'
H:  okay, we are going to Grandpa and Grandpa's house.
M: No... Say it again.  Where are we going?
H:  I DON'T KNOW!

What do you say to the poor kid?  All we could do was laugh.  Poor kid... so confused

So...

all of Curt's late nights of working... are over.

Yep, he was thrown under the bus by his co-workers yesterday and now he's out of a job.

Many thanks to the people he works with for the ego bruising and the many knives that are sticking out of his back. I have enjoyed staying up at night wondering when he will get home because he was fixing your mistakes. I also love that he has not complained about you to his supervisor, while you were doing nothing but complaining. I will miss his paycheck, it must feel nice to know that you are still getting yours... at his expense. I really hope that Karma is paying attention.

I am looking at this as an opportunity to get my dear, hardworking husband into a place that is so much better than what he has gotten. This may be a great time to consider moving away from this state, even though I will miss family and friends. Independence is something that I have always been proud of having, but I realize I need support.

So, if you know of any employers looking for a wonderful man to make their company complete, please let us know.

(Where's Hurley when you need him?) ☺

Aaron and Friends

We took Aaron and some friends out to breakfast, movie and playtime for Aaron's Birthday that's next week.

There are a lot of pictures of Bill and Aaron, Nate: I had to talk him into being in Pics and Cade avoided the camera. I'm glad they are excited to have Aaron be a Deacon. They have helped him not be so nervous about it!

The "new" Little Red Hen.

Mommy:  Who will help me grind the wheat?
Hayden:  I will, Mommy!

Mommy:  Who will stick their fingers in the rising bread?
Hayden:  I will, Mommy.

Mommy:  Who will help me wait for the bread to rise?
Hayden:  I will, Mommy, and I'll make you laugh too!
See my orangy eyes?

And my awesome mustache?

Mommy:  Who will watch the bread to make sure it doesn't burn?
Hayden:  I will, Mommy, is it done yet?  How 'bout now?
'N'kay... now?   Now?  Now???

And when it was done, Hayden gobbled it right up.

Scary Eyes

So... I'm looking through the channels
and tried to skip past the "boring-ness" of CNN, when I spotted:

Madame Scary Eyes!

Who's she staring at?
(even Hayden was afraid.)

36 Things

that you may or may not know about me!!!

1.   I love hugging, especially when I'm excited about something.  So, if I hug you, don't be offended or surprised!

2.  I love my calling, primary pianist is the best! (even if I'm supposed to be quiet, I'm not.)

3.  I'm not afraid of getting older.   I'm afraid of my children getting older.

4.  Onions give me gas.   I figured you wouln't know about this one, but now you do.

5.  I love beard scratches.  Yes, it's weird.  Hubby scratches my back with his beard, I love it.

6.   I love eel sauce on sushi, but I hate eel.   It's got the funkiest texture.

7.   I've had hormone problems for the last 14 years.  It's had a lot of ups and downs. (hee, hee)

8.   Some of my closest friends have stuck with me for about 2 decades.

9.   I hate the little boy who cried "wolf".  I mean really?   Why did he need so much attention?

10.  My favorite story growing up was "The Little Mermaid", I always cried at the end when she turned into foam.   I'm sad Disney changed it.  Dying for love always makes a great ending.

11.  I love the color green.  I always have.   I don't know why.

12.  I raised my kids with 2 sayings.  1 is "You'll never be too old to kiss your mom, even in public."   #2 is "Almost doesn't count."  Does it?  I don't like the answer of "almost".

13.  I write in a journal most Sundays.  I learned this from my mom.
I want all of her Journals someday, so I can make them into a book to give to my siblings.

14.   I love Hayden's "Dork Dance".  It's a real treat.

15.  I LOVE dark chocolate.  I'm okay with milk chocolate, but only in cookies.

16.  Speaking of cookies, I love frozen cookies.  Yes, frozen.  Warm cookies are alright, but frozen is so much better.

17.   I have 2 signs in my kitchen.  The first one says, "There's a skinny girl who lives inside of me trying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies."  The other sign: "A messy kitchen is a happy kitchen; mine's delirious."  Too sad, Too funny, Too true.

18.  I love seafood.   I love beef.   There's nothing better than a great surf-and-turf entree, but I eat chicken about 95% of the time.

19.   I love music, especially classical.  Mozart's my guy!!!   My favorite is Sabat Mater sung by the Vienna Boys Choir.  It's in the funeral scene of the movie Amadeus.

20.  I love movies,  I don't watch a lot of them: unless I've read the book, been referred by a friend, or I'm dragged to it by Curt.

21.  If I could live anywhere in the world, it'd be Ireland.  I love the accent, the weather, the simpleness, the green of it all.   (I'm shaped like a potato with toothpicks... potato... Ireland, I don't think this is a coincidence.)

22.   I have always owned a dictionary and a thesaurus.  They are 2 of my favorite books.

23.   I love soymilk.  If it was cheaper, I'd drink nothing but soymilk.

24.   I go to Costco most Fridays, I'm a sucker for free samples.

25.   I love Christmas Cards.  I love that through them, I can keep in touch with friends I don't get to see very often.

26.  I love to read.  I love the rain.  I love hot chocolate.  The combination of these three things makes for a perfect day.

27.  I love my sister-in-law, Tiffany for telling me to throw down all books that I'm reading and read The Hunger Games!   Holy Cow!  She knows me so well!  This is a great book!  (Thanks, Myra, for letting me borrow it!)

28.  I love my siblings.   I love their spouses.  I love their children.  Ahhhhh, the joy of family.

29.   I love my Dad.   I love that he has such a wonderful sense of humor and has never been afraid to share it.   I'm also glad that he's always willing to jump in and help Curt administer blessings.

30.  I love my Mom.  We may not always see eye-to-eye, but we are getting there.   I've come to realize in the last year or so what a neat lady she is.   She's talented and I'm grateful that I have some of her characteristics.  We've found common ground through books ☺.

31.  I love my "eternal sidekick", he's been really good at helping me keep my head in my trials.  He's always the first person I see after surgeries, he's getting so practiced at giving me blessings (heaven knows I've had enough!), and he's such a hard working dude.   I miss him during the week because he's at work from 8am to 10pm somedays; other days, he comes home on time so he can chat with me.

32.  I love, love, love to try new recipes.   I love tweaking recipes to what I like.

33.   I love bread  and pastas.  I'm a carb-o-holic.   "Give me Bowtie, or give me death."

34.   I can't sleep unless Curt's beside me.   The longest we've been apart in 15 years of marriage is 2 days.   I couldn't sleep.  He's not allowed to die.

35.  I don't have a problem sharing food.   However, if there's a
yummy item on my plate, ask first.

36.  I had an awesome birthday.  I loved all my birthday messages on Facebook, the Birthday cards I recieved and the awesome birthday ribs that Curt made just for me.   I didn't have a birthday cake because I had a lot of people drop off brownies, cookies, and a pie.   I also made my own cookies and those went into the freezer to be enjoyed another day.

Removal of posts

As author of my own posts, I choose to remove certain posts from time to time.

I chose to remove yesterday's post after talking to a friend of mine.

I trust her opinion.   I trust her judgement.

The post was meant to get a point across.

I'm tired of lies.  That was my point.

The End.
