Happy Birthday Mom & Welcome Home Dad!

Happy "You get to be on Medicare" Birthday Mom!

(this is NOT my mom and I am convinced this lady is drinking sparkling cider!)

I have to say a huge "Amen" after what my sister Jenny wrote!

For those of you who don't know, but last Monday night, my Dad had another stroke. Uuuggghhh!

I was made aware of this on Tuesday morning and halted all plans for the day, dropped Hayden off at Sarah's and spent the rest of the day with Dad. Mom and Jenny were there already and it really hurt me to see my him in this way. He started joking with the nurse and it immediately entered into my heart that everything was going to be alright.

For instance, he asked if his grandkids could come in an visit him... ALL 29 of them! I loved the expression on her face, that was so funny. She didn't get that it was a joke at first until Mom, Jen and I started laughing. I think from then on, they knew that we were not a serious bunch of people. BUT we did kind of attack the poor nurse when she wanted to give dad an "optional" sedative before he went down for an MRI and he had already said he didn't want it. Poor nurse!
We must have seemed a little Bi-Polar!

We took Jen's Wyatt to see him and then the next day took Hayden and Wyatt. He loves all of his grandkids and loves to watch them grow!

Curt and I took the kids to see him on Halloween in their costumes and we could tell that he liked that a lot.

All together, I really liked spending time with him and My mom.

Dad came home from the hospital on Saturday Night and seems to be feeling a lot better! Maybe this stroke reverse some of the damage from the first one! We can always hope!

I love this picture that Jen took. It's of Dad and Jen's awesome little guy Wyatt!

I am very grateful that Heavenly Father is letting us keep our Dad for a while longer!

wow, i'm glad your dad is ok. let's keep him that way for a long time to come. it's so hard to see parents and loved ones in the hospital! the only time it's ok is one a baby is born. :)

Glad to hear your dad is doing ok. I hate those scares! We thought Kyle's dad had a stroke on Sunday morning. They are still trying to figure out what is going on.

I am so sorry about your Dad. I'm glad you felt it would all be ok though. Getting older is hard on everyone.

Shellee, that is so scary! I'm so glad President Porter is alright (he will always be President Porter to me!).

I'm glad you dad is doing ok! That is so scary! As for the girls heights they are pretty much the same. I think they weren't both standing up straight in that pict. Good question though, it made me wonder too:)

Yeah... if the nurse didn't know he was joking about wanting to see the grandkids, she hasn't met your kids.

Just kidding, Aaron and Alyssa! We always have fun together. Especially when there's some Wii Fit or Rockband involved.

(Why is it that every time I type something for a blog, Rockband is mentioned?)

I am so glad he is ok. Your dad is such a good man. And I agree with Paula, he will always be President Porter, a man I always respected and knew was good.

Thanks for the nice comment, I think I would hyperventilate on camera if I tried to play Bella:) The pumpkin cake recipe is linked to the word so you just have to click on it. Also I have some more of those box tops for your guys.
