when you leave a 2 yr old in the bathroom and he has access to a whole roll of toilet paper?

WICKED!

Yes, I was one of the fortunate thousands that got to see Wicked! I knew it was coming to the valley and so when we got our income tax return, it's the first thing that was purchased (sadly, the rest went towards bills). We were able to find 23 friends to go with us so we were able to have first dibbs on tickets and get a group sale. It was fatastically wicked!!!

Seriously, this is the best Mexican Food and we got to the show with time to spare!

But there were so many lines from the show that we say, "toss, toss... flip, flip", "not everyone can come and go by bubble", "Maybe he saw green and thought it meant go", etc. I loved it and would love to see it again. Up next, Phantom?

Free Breakfast.

Chick-Fil-A was giving away free breakfast for a week. We went there every morning for breakfast and on Friday, Curt joined us! We went from the one by our house to the one on Stapley. (It was Curt's decision). We really enjoyed having the Daddy with us!

Fourth of July

We had a great Fourth of July. Kez called us and told us that her dad had found a great place to watch the fireworks at Tempe Town Lake. He was right! The view was nice and close enough to see the ground fireworks, but far enough away not to have to deal with the sound.

We found these cool lightsticks that were swords and fairy wands for the kids to play with at the $1 store! Each child had a different color so I knew where they were .

This is Hayden and his cape. He is Super-Hayden. He loves his cape.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

Yes! It's that time of year and I love this commercial. I never really understood it until last year when I became a stay at home mother. Oh, how I have been tempted to sing this and ride on shopping carts and dancing with such happiness!!!!



Don't get me wrong, I love my children. I am ready to be done with "Mom, I'm bored", "Can we please go swimming", "Chores? Are you serious? We need to play!", "Can't we just...". They emind me that they shouldn't do chores, it's their vacation not mine. I keep praying for year-round school, but so far, no one has listened (I also pray for uniforms so I don't have to deal with name brands).

Best Date

We've been married 14 1/2 yrs. We always have a hard time coming up with fun and cheap dates. This will be an idea that will be repeated. Well, I hope we don't have to chat with policemen next time.

We have a gift certificate from Restaurants.com and went to Takara Sushi. It was so good! Their Nigiri is only $1.00 a piece and they were fresh huge cuts!!!

While we were getting finished with dinner, there was a wonderfully powerful Thunderstorm heading in. We all know that this is my favorite time of the year because of those, so, we headed towards it. We stopped at a Redbox along the way south and picked up "Twillight". Curt had never seen it, nor read the book, so he was wondering what the hub-bub was about. We also stopped at a grocery store and grabbed some popsicles, because every great date has to have them.

So we headed towards a park near SanTan Mall that overlooks a cotton field. Pulled into it, facing the storm, rolled down the windows and watched the movie with the Thunderstorm raging in the background. (We just recently realized what great surround sound the kids have back there inthe back of the van.) If you didn't like the movie, try it like this... it makes the movie SO MUCH BETTER!!!

We knew the park closed at 10, and for some reason thought we were above the law, so at about 10:30, I looked out the window past Curt and saw a police car with 2 officers walking towards us. With their flashlights on ... shining in the windows.

I opened the side door of the van and looked out and said "Hi!"
Here's the conversation:

Me: Hi
Off #1: Whatcha' doin'?
Me: Watching a movie.
Off: Oooo. What movie?
Me: Twillight. It's pretty cool with the thunderstorm in the background and you know it's a really cheap date night thing.
Off: Huh,* long pause* ( I thought maybe he wanted to watch it with us). Well, the park closes at 10.
Me: I know but we really wanted to finish the movie. We've only got about 5 minutes left. They're at the Prom.
Off: Okay, finish the movie... be safe... watch out for vampires though.
Me: Alright, good night.

You could tell by the look on the officer's face that he's got his next date night all set up. It was perfect weather, with a great light show and movie. The whole time the other officer was watching the movie through the other side of the van.

Curt liked the movie and now understands this spoof. It's still one of my faves.
