Yes, it is Wednesday night. I couldn't wait one more day to share a project with you. I found this while I was stalking. Yes, I stalk. No, I am not too embarrassed to admit it. Some of my best things are stolen. Here is the project:

Create a Princess Tutu

For the princesses in your life. If you love little tutus as much as I do, you are going to love this project. They are so cute and simple to make and will save you some mula too!

Step 1:

Measure the length you would like the tutu tulle (the light-weight fine netting fabric you will use) and when cutting your tulle stripes - double that length. So, if you need it to be about 14 inches long, cut 28 inch strips in the colors you like. (Example colors: Purple and Pink).

Step 2:

Then tie the tulle around your elastic. (Be sure to stay consistent when tying each strip of tulle). Like so:

Tying it tight.

Finished with one! ;)

Tie on as many tulle strips as you wish. The key: do not tie them too tight first since this may stretch out the elastic and will make it harder to fix later. Once you have tied on all of the tulle strips and they are positioned just how you like them, then tighten them up.

Yes, I know I spelled that wrong. But school is done for the year. We are happy to announce that our children were able to move up a grade! Aaron will be in fifth grade and Alyssa will be in fourth grade. (and they got really good grades, too!)
They are both going to miss their teachers. Aaron really liked having a male teacher and someone who understood his sense of humor. I though Mr. Calander did a wonderful job keeping me filled in on assignments, so I could pressure Aaron to get them done on time. He thought Aaron's a pretty funny kid and liked having Aaron in his class. (Mr. Calander is a seventh degree black belt and I think Aaron knew that Mr. C could kick his butt if he messed around too much!)
Alyssa is going to miss Mrs. Smith (Aaron had her for third grade also). Alyssa got an award for being the quietest girl in the class. I think that's funny, because I rarely see Alyssa calm down, much less be quiet... it nice to think that she has learned to be quiet! When I found out that Mrs. Smith had Alyssa, I told her that she was on the other end of the spectrum from Aaron, he talks, she doesn't. He goofs off, she doesn't. He refuses to get classwork done, she does it and gets it overwith. They are different...
Aaron and Alyssa have shared the same teacher twice, in first and third grades. Every time that they didn't the teacher had moved to another grade or moved away before Alyssa had the chance. We'll see if she ends up with Mr. Calander.

Hayden is thrilled to have the kids home, and I think he will be sad in August when they go back to school. Maybe he'll be happy to have mom back to himself?!?!!?!

Kitchen Sink Philosophy

When I created two blogs, this one is more for everyone to know what is going on in our home! The Kitchen sink is more for letting my buddies get to know me better, my joys, my sorrows... that kind of stuff. I wasn't sure if I had clarified that. Anyway, I only post of there about 1-2 time a month. It's kind of a journal, so if you really would like to get to know the "inner-me", read away!

Okay, so I have a question...

This is regarding manners and it is something that happens in my family, Curt's family, and some of my friend's families. Now we are talking about family (parents & siblings)not cousins, or distant relatives.
How do you share news?
I recently got a letter from my brother and he let us know that his wife was pregnant. Now, I think this is okay, because he is in charge of the family reunion this year and was going to write us anyway. He really didn't have to call each of us.
However, when a child is born, is it really okay to just tell for example, "Grand-Mom" and have her call everyone? Wouldn't they rather get the information from the one who just had the baby or the father who helped?
I think that I could share this with friends by sending out an email, but not family. Maybe pictures and backup information, but it should be told to family over the phone first. Engagements, also require a phone call.
I really don't like the gossip scheme. Gossip is bad, and the only person I tell/share with is Curtis. If I have had a "gossipy" conversation with someone, it usually stops with me. I think that is why I don't talk that much in certain groups of friends.
Anyway, however you vote, Remember that "Manners Matter"!

Super Spencer!

Okay, so most of you know about my oldest nephew, Spencer the Sky-toucher. Yep, super tall (6'4". I think), 16 yrs old. and one of the neatest kids around.
Anyway, he made it to State Finals in the 1A class (Joseph City High School)and since he pulled a hamstring and couldn't run (lucky for the other guys), he only participated in Discus and Shot Put. He placed 4th in the Discus and 3rd in the Shot Put.

I had the opportunity to also hang out with Dallin and Kristin. They are such fun kids. I love them to pieces. Well, I love all of my nieces and nephews to bits!!!

Kimmie, I want you to know that I talk competitive smack about others too. There was
this kid that was goofy looking with red hair, crooked teeth, and wore
a green jersey. I told my other nephew, Dallin the awesome, that he looked like an overgrown leprechaun. HE DID! HE REALLY, REALLY DID! I was going to get a photo of the dude 'cause he was really goofy looking! Tonight, I learned from my sister that everyone calls him "Shrek". HAHAHAHAHA!

This month for book club we are reading this book. For the last couple of months, I have bought the book and started reading it, only to find out it is a book that I really have to work to get past the first few pages. Not this one!!!!!!! I started reading it and I have not put it down. I probably will be reading this one a few times before the group meets later this month.
I haven't laughed out loud (while reading) so much. Everyone who reads this should love it. It brought back a lot of memories from when I was a kid. She makes me feel normal.
