Congratulations Rich and Lindsey!

Doesn't Lindsey look fantastic?

Grandpa Porter holding our big 9 yr old baby.

Alyssa was thrilled that she was able to hold Ashton without us freaking out!

Isn't he the cutest!

Happy Grandparents! This is their 30th grandchild.

Hidden Jewel

I have found something in my house that has become something I don't think I ever want to live without again!

A FEW YEARS AGO... CHRISTMAS...

*bllllliiiiiiiiiiing*

Mom and Dad :"Merry Christmas Shellee and Curtis"

Shellee and Curtis: "Merry Christmas Mom and Dad".

M & D: "We decided for Christmas this year that we were going to

give everyone things that would help them

live out of their food storage.

We decided to get you a Nutrimill Wheat Grinder

and a Zojirushi Breadmaker"

S & C: "Oh, okay, thank you."

(thought: we'll never use this, well... maybe someday)

A YEARS LATER...

*bllllliiiiiiiiiing*

Shellee: "Hmmmm. I want to make bread, I don't really have time,
but have all of the ingredients. I have a breadmaker

in the back closet, I wonder if that will help me?"

*Digs through back closet, dusts it off*

S: "Oh my! I can make Jelly in this too?

I can make cakes?

I can make Meatloaf?

I can make Sourdough Bread in one day?

Why? OH, WHY did I not ever use this before?"

(By the way, we use the NutriMill and Breadmaker more than

any other small appliance in the house.

Well, not more than my rice cooker... but you get the idea.)

Next on my list: A Pressure Cooker... a really nice one.

*Hint, Hint - Mom, Dad?

Lawrence, Sandy? *

Hayden's Lunch

I had a friend who told me that she doesn't believe that my little 2 year old LOVES sushi.

He does. He really does.

It can get pretty expensive so I have learned to make rolls at home. We love being able to have sushi anytime we want.

More sewing

A couple of months ago, I asked my friend Lynnae, to show me how to make... um... nursing covers. If you know me really well, I like to go all out when it comes to my close friends and family. So, taking her knowledge (Thanks Lynnae) I made this for my wonderful sis-in-law, Lindsey. I made this before we knew she was having a boy, but it would have worked for a girl, too. It's reversible. (I like reversible everything.)

Thanks Sarah, for being a great model.

Yes... the hair went bye-bye.

I will miss this...
And especially this...
And then we did this...To get this!!!!!!!
I will really miss my little girl's long beautiful hair, but I know that it will grow back.
It's still better than this...

The Dress.

I told Alyssa that once school was out, I would make her a dress. I have tons of material and a lot of patterns. This was the dress she picked out. There is a lot more to this dress than I would have expected. But it's done and I'm happy with it.

While I was looking over the pattern, I noticed there was a hat pattern, so I made Alyssa and her best friend, Lilli, matching reversible hats. Aren't they cute?

Here they are just being buddies.

Aaron has moved onto Boy Scouts and so Hayden decided that Aaron's old Cub Scout shirt was his. (sorry about the mess, it was like a bomb had been set off, KABOOM!)
