Oh, how lovely was the morning...

I loved waking up this morning!

I had a nice picked-up front room, the dishes were done and it was past 7 a.m., when I opened my eyes. My first thoughts were about everything I had gotten done yesterday and what I needed to accomplish today.
I asked Curt to have to car today, and he told me that he needed it because he had a meeting.
I am grateful that he needed the car because that forced me out of the house to go shopping before he left for work. We needed laundry detergent (I kept forgetting when I went previously) and so I headed out to Fry's.

I am going to go shopping from now on in the morning and here's the reasons why:

1. I have never been greeted so warmly by the guy at the door.

2. They told me that they would honor the sale prices for anything that they hadn't changed yet.

3. I asked an employee where something was and instead of him just telling me or pointing, he took me directly to it.

4. There is just something nice about someone telling me, "Good Morning" and smiling while they say it!

5. I went to the self-checkout and had the attendant to myself. We had a nice conversation.

6. There were no screaming, tantruming children. No one I had to tell "No!", "get down from there" or "would you two quit fighting?" to. They were at home in bed or watching cartoons. Ahhhhhhhhhh, Silence really IS golden!

7. I saw a few people in pajamas, gym shorts and tees, and a few that you could tell had just rolled out of bed. I felt so at home.

8. Everything was in stock, I didn't have to get rainchecks for anything. So, so nice.

ON another note:
Alyssa's dress is mostly finished and it's so adorable. I will take some pictures and post them later. I fell like such a "Mom" lately and am so glad the kids are home for the summer.

Cookies!

Now that I have your attention

I would like to inform all-a-ya'll that I will be making cookies for all of you wonderful people in our ward who come to choir next week.

I thought I could offer an incentive for those who sing.

Choir is at 4 p.m. in the Relief Society Room.

Seriously, we could use the voices (I think there were 10 people there today?).

Could I be any happier?

I'm pretty happy today and I don't have any idea why!
Could it be...
Swimming Season?
A clean house?
A sleeping baby?
A full stomach?
The end of the school year (almost)?
A girl who wants to continue playing the violin?
A boy who wants to keep playing the drums?
A happy husband that actually went to church because there weren't any sick kids to keep him home?
A new song in Primary?
For some reason, the song "There is Sunshine in My Soul" has been running through my head! We didn't sing it in church today, but it's in my head and I can't get it out!
BTW, I can't get my camera to setup on this computer. I'll have Curt check it out. Sorry about the lack of pics of the kids, Curt and I.

Winner, Winner

How do we decide this?!?
The kids didn't really think this was fair.
Bailey - you know way too much about our family, because you are part of the family. Love you.
Kimmie - you didn't do the facts or opinions about our family.
Liz - You are so awesome and flattery will get you everywhere.
Steph (Tess) - You have known me for a great majority of my life, you have the inside scoop.
Melissa - How did you know that I place trust in dreams. I knew Aaron was a boy, Alyssa was a girl and Curt had a dream about holding a little blonde haired boy. I have dreams about close friends when they are pregnant and know the sex of the child (I have been 98% right on this). I knew my sister in law was pregnant with a girl even before whe knew she was pregnant.
Kazhia - what kind of entry was that?!?!?!?
So... Stephanie and Liz, you win.
You get to do the happy dance.
Bailey, I'll make you cookies for your birthday
(it's in a month from today, I'll just have to mail them to you)
Melissa and Kimmie, better luck next time. Still love you though.

Fact or Opinion

Lately, Alyssa and I have been discussing facts vs. opinions. We'll watch a commercial and I'll ask her if is a fact or opinion. She sometimes has a hard time deciphering because of the wording, but is getting much better at it.

Don't count yourself out of the challenge just because you are out of town.

I will mail them to you.

(Vandee, you are already getting some for a previous challenge)
You'll all be doing this dance while you eat them!!!!
(I DO!)

Challenge:
The 2 people who submit the most interesting 5 FACTs and 5 Opinions about me or my family, will win Chocolate Chip Cookies. Now, be careful about your wording. Our family will be selecting the winners on May 4th as part of our FHE lesson.

Now here's the thing so great about these cookies. I use real vanilla beans, and the best ingredients. The dough has to stay in the fridge to "cure" for 2 days before baking. They are firm but chewy.

Ugh, this is why I have a weight problem (well, one of the reasons).
