Yep, here it is again, Thusday. I have a hard time remembering and I keep thinking it's Friday because the kids don't have school tomorrow. I sure hope Aaron does great on his tests, because we have found a new motivation for him, SUSHI! You read right, SUSHI. He discovered 2-3 weeks ago that he loves the stuff. Most of you know that he is a seafood-aholic. For his birthdays, when he was younger, we would take him to the casino buffet and sit there for a few hours cracking open snow crab to feed to him. Yes... a few hours... and Yes... the casino, it was the only place where we could afford to eat as much crab as he does. So, I hope that he gets As on his tests, because his reward is going out for Sushi. Alyssa's rewards are much more simple, but come more often because she is such a great student. (BTW, she now has her own blogpage, it's on the list.)
Alright, I found out that Charmin stole "Thievery Thurday" from Melissa Masitis and who knows where Melissa stole it from... But I think it is still a good idea. Feel free to steal from me what you wish...
Here is what I stole (at least I'm honest about it!).
I came across the sister of a friend's blog and she had this video on it. Anyone who went to the Visitor's Center during the Easter Pageant should have seent his. But here it is in video form. It's wonderful and just reminded me of Christ's life here on earth and why I survive and learn from the trials that are given to me, for they are mine and I charish them... Christ is the ultimate example, I have not been asked to sacrifice my life for all mankind, but I have been asked to be like him in word and through simple acts of charity. What a wonderful reminder of who I am and who I want to become...

When you are done with this, check out Kitchen sink for a cute new video!
In this moment: a baby is born into an awaiting family, a grandfather passes into the arms of those gone before. What we do in the middle of these two events determines who we are and who we will become.

Thievery Thursday
Thank you Charmin for the "Theivery Thursday" idea. I steal ideas from people sometimes, and feel bad. But I say "NO MORE"! I will not feel bad because someone has a song that I love, so I add it to my screen! I will not feel bad for stealing ideas for a blog post! So with that said, I forge ahead in my "thievery"!
Thanks Marisa, I stole your idea!

Heavenly Angels singing "AMEN!"

General Conference was AWESOME! I was incredibly happy to hear from our newest President and Prophet Thomas S. Monson. He is such a dear sweet man and I love that he teaches through parables as Christ does. He touches all who hear him. (I miss hearing from President Hinkley, he has the most soothing voice!)
I was so happy when they named D. Todd Christofferson as one of the twelve apostles. I had the pleasure of meeting him when my dad was a Regional Representative. He truly is a wonderful man.
Some of you know that since I quit my job, and had never been a stay at home mother before, I have been a little lost. I listen to my friends on what they say brings them the most joy in their home, then I try to incorporate those habits into my life. I feel as though I am starting to "get it". It has been a long year, yet it went by so fast. March 29th was my one year mark of quitting. From time to time I regret leaving, but I am reminded when I see Hayden that it is worth it.

When Elder Ballard started in on his talk "Daughters of God" (http://lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-851-37,00.html), I felt thrilled. Elder Ballard's talk really hit home. I feel as though someone finally understood my feelings and how much harder it is to be a mom, instead of passing the kids onto someone else to raise. I have never been a home-body and have always had tons of people around me, I have always been the friend that goes to someone else's home instead of being in my own.
As most of you will agree though, the best part of his talk was when he was talking to the men. I told Curt to listen c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y. He needed to hear some of these things, not so I can hold it against him, but to know that my time at home should not be referred to as "free-time". I am not superwoman, and I have no intentions of becoming superwoman. I just need some family and a lot of friends around to help me along my way to becoming a better mom.

Afterschool Fun!
This week is Aimes Testing Week at Franklin! We love this week every year because it means NO HOMEWORK! The kids basically can get out of school, get a chore or two done really fast and then are free to roam! Yesterday was so windy that we pulled Aaron's kite out (He got it for his birthday and has been waiting for a day like this) and it flew right up. Then the skateboards came out and since we have a hill in front of our home, why not use it?
(I don't know why the pictures load so slow, you may have to hit pause to view the pages one by one.)

Music on the Mellor Site
I am getting to know how to work this site a little better, so I added music. My brother, Dan will be so proud...
Music square is at the very bottom, just in case you were wondering.

T-R-O-U-B-L-E!

I guess the time has come in my littlest boy's life that I have to watch him like a hawk! He has become my biggest mess-maker and I have finally caught on camera what he is doing! He has started to climb! Aaron and Alyssa were not that bad of climbers, but then, Here Comes Hayden! He has an addiction to airplanes (thanks to his father) and so he will climb anywhere to get his hands on them. So, this is where I found him this morning...
He made his way up onto the computer desk, then over to the wall of shelves to get the orange plane. Luckily, I had the camera by the computer, and when he saw me reach for it he said, "Cheeeeeeeeeese". At least I've taught him something right...

Book Group
I joined a book group in January and we have read some really neat books. I honestly don't know why I didn't join it sooner! Most of you know that if I am not reading at least 3 books at a time, there is something wrong!
Last month at Emily's home, she had chosen the book, "Island of the Blue Dolphins" by Scott O'Dell. I haven't read this book in YEARS! I forgot how much I liked that story! For the group, the hostess also serves a dinner. YUMMMMMMMM-O!!!!! Emily served us the most wonderful seafood (Shrimp, Scallops, Tallapia, Salmon). Seafood ROCKS! Thank you, Thank you Emily!

This month is Dr. Laura Schlessinger's "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands". I know, I know. More from Dr. Laura... BUT! AHA! She does have some really good points and I have learned from this book. We'll see how this ends...
All in all, I have read some books so far that I probably wouldn't have read. I have learned some new words (Thanks Myra) and I am looking for some good books to add to my list of "TO READ". So, if you have any, let me know!
